I was looking for a mechanic for my John Deere tractor, and you would not believe the levels I had to to go to find a mechanic. There is no google listing. There are no yellow pages. There is simply word of mouth. I hunted down this guy like a crazed stalker. I asked the feedstore people. They sent me to Bateman’s. Bateman’s told me he had moved, and gave me what they thought was his phone number. I called, and he gave me directions. Having never been there, I missed his drive multiple times. Words like ‘7 mile hill’ and down the road from something or other is daunting for a new comer.
But find him I did, and I was ecstatic at the level of service. James doesn’t think he needs a google listing, or a large following — anywhere. However, as a tractor owner who was determined to find a mechanic…I disagree. There are other people like me who need someone close, local, and very good at what he does.
